Snēlab keeps one law: nothing is taken that isn't repaid in equal measure.
Goal. Get one of your pieces to the far side — or leave your opponent with no legal move.
You have seven pieces in four ranks, moving 1, 2, 3, and 4 squares. The board is 7×7.
"Forward" means toward your opponent. The sideways part can go left or right — the symbol on each piece shows it one way, but either works. A piece always travels its full distance: no stopping early, no zigzags, and nothing jumps.
Your whole path has to be open, except the last square, where you can land on an enemy piece to take it.
If you take a piece, you pay for it: give up your own pieces totaling the same number. Take a 3, give up a 3 — or a 1 and a 2. The capturing piece can't pay for itself. A piece can also run its route backward to capture, but never otherwise.
First case starts with a coin flip; after that, the loser opens.
Stakes. Casino: you both stake 12, the winner takes 22, the House keeps 2. Street: no House, no books — winner takes all 24, settle up yourselves.
Two humans. "vs Human" plays both sides on this board; "vs Human (online)" shares a code so a friend can join over the net.
After each case there's a Review that judges your moves, and the game log can be shared.
